Open Show 2019

Thank you to the committee for inviting me to judge this very friendly club show, and to the exhibitors for their entries. The show had a lovely atmosphere and I was made to feel very welcome. There were some top quality dogs present, and I appreciate exhibitors showing them under me. I very much enjoyed the day.

Veteran Dog (5 entries – 1 absentee)
1st ​Bartram’s CONYSLUCK THE RED BARON JW – Smart 8 year old red sable and white who stood out here. Very well presented and in profuse coat. Nice size, slightly heavier set than 2. Held his tail well. Lovely ear set and fringes which were correctly set and framed his head to advantage. Good hare feet. Loved his topline. Dark pigment. Very glamorous boy. BVD & BVIS
2nd ​Burns & Lacy’s PAPLYSH EZEKIEL SON OF ABLOU – 13 years old and looked good for his age. Black and white. Tended to drop his tail standing but liked his type
3rd ​Foynes & May’s TRAVELLING BY MOONLIGHT TO AMICAE

Minor Puppy Dog (2 entries)
1st ​Lee-Slater’s MAGIC SUNRISE GOLD DJ – Red sable & white. Smart little puppy, so well balanced and with good angulation throughout. Moved well. Very attractive head with large mobile ears. Dainty. Good topline and tail set. Needs to build his confidence but did well.
2nd​ Blakeman’s MELANGEL GORJUSS GUS GLENDIAN – Unfortunately he didn’t use his ears to advantage today. Still in puppy coat. Lovely character

Puppy Dog (6 entries, 1 absentee)
1st ​Lee-Slater & Kewley’s GRAYCAZ O’THEO – 10 month old red sable & white. What a lovely size, make and shape. Dainty but with good bone. Well angulated throughout. Presented a very pleasing outline when standing, and has a lovely topline. Ideal tail set and tail carried correctly over back. Very appealing head. Large well set and mobile ears giving the correct head and expression. Lovely puppy. BPD, BPIS
2nd​ Cooper’s WILACHANS OLI – Another very promising puppy. He pushed 1 hard but needs more body. Loved his make and shape. Full of quality. Such a good head with the correct length of muzzle to skull and had a lovely ear set. Another one to watch. A real showman.
3rd ​Foynes & May’s MARTIKA KISS AND TELL FOR LAFAY NAF TAF

Junior Dog (2 entries)
1st ​Ramsay & Mowatt’s IOTASTAR GREAT ADVENTURE – Glamourous Tri in full coat. Super make and shape. Level topline. Well sprung rib. Good plume. Coat of correct texture. Correct hare feet. Well balanced. Attractive head with large mobile ears. Quality dog.
2nd ​Mann’s MOWLAY LETS BOOGIE TO MELANGEL – More refined type. Another quality boy. Didn’t move as well today. Black and white with good ear set. Level topline. Dainty. Straight forelegs. Good angulation. Lovely coat texture.

Yearling Dog (3 entries, 1 absentee)
1st​ Thompson & Austin’s MELANGEL HIGHLAND BY DESING AT JHANAKIA – Black and white 19 months old. Full of beans today. Nice size, dainty. Correct hare feet. Good topline and tail set. Lovely plume held well at all times. Attractive head, with correct sized dark eye. Good coat and correct texture.
2nd ​Hobson’s AMICAE KENZO AT ROSENJON – Sable & white. Correct abundant, silky coat. Well set ears with good fringes. Dark eye.

Novice Dog (3 entries, 2 absentees)
1st​ Maskell & Waller’s KAZKELL A MILLION DREAMS WITH LILNROSE – 2 year old Tri in lovely coat of correct silky texture. Well sprung rib, tail set correctly and carried well over back. Correct 45 degree ear set. Dark eye. Mobile ears. Hare feet.

Graduate Dog (3 entries)
1st​ Waller’s LILNROSE I’M A LOVE BUG JW – Dainty dog. Coat of correct silky texture. Very showy. Well angulated throughout. Dark eye and pigment. Lovely ear fringes. Neat hare feet. Used ears to advantage.
2nd​ Richardson’s RINGLANDS SUNNY TOMMY TUCKER TO BELVANE – Larger size than 1. In good coat. Large mobile ears with good fringes. Lovel topline. Good angulation.
3rd ​Green’s GIRAMONDO VON JORGEALIN

Post Graduate Dog (7 entries, 2 absentees)
1st​ Lanson’s CANTOVERDE CAPTAIN CASPER JW SHCM – I was surprised to find this Tri in Post Graduate. Smart exhibit I’ve judged before. He is so well balanced, dainty but with strong bone. He has plenty of coat in super condition and the correct silky texture. Very well presented, he is a lovely size and has a light free flowing movement typical of the breed. Correct hare feet. Such an appealing head with large ears correctly set and used to advantage. Fine muzzle of the required length. Good plume held well at all times. Smart dog BD & RBIS
2nd​ Ramsay & Mowatt’s IOTASTAR’S BRAVE NEW WORLD – Loved this little Tri, unlucky to meet 1. Very dainty & well balanced. Correct tail set, good plume. Lovely ears which he used so well. Glamourous, appealing head and expression.
3rd​ Bruce’s TIJUANA DOUBLE TROUBLE

Limit Dog (7 entries, 1 absentee)
1st ​Morley & Hitchcock’s ELFUAGO BOMBASTIC – Nice size Tri shown to advantage. Lovely ear set with good fringes. Slight curve to top of head. Correct, fine muzzle of the required length. Overall he presented a smart outline with a good topline which he held on the move. He also held his plume well at all times. Desired hare feet and straight front legs. Dainty overall but strong boned. Pleasing coat of required silky texture. Smart boy. RBD
2nd​ Morton’s ABLAZZOR KING OF SPADES – Pushed 1 hard. Slightly larger in size but still dainty. I liked him a lot. Another tri of good quality. Pleasing outline. Good bone. Neat feet though I felt his front feet had been over trimmed. Very good head with large mobile ears and pleasing muzzle. Profuse silky coat. Large plume carried well. Dark eye and good pigment.
3rd​ Bruce’s TIJUANA MISCHIEF MAKER

Open Dog (7 entries, 1 absentee)
1st ​Wiggins’s ROZAMIE MONSIEUR ARTHUR FOR SCAPAFIELD JW – Dark red sable and white, what a stylish boy. Ideal size make and shape. Such a good profile. Well set, large mobile ears. Level topline. Well set tail forming a good plume over back. Dark eye of correct size, good pigment. Moved well. Neat hare feet. In good coat, of desired silky texture. Pleasing overall. Quality dog.
2nd​ Foynes & May’s LAFAY PETITE ETOILE JW – Dark red sable and white. Liked his make and shape. Also in good coat. Pleasing head and expression. Pleasing head framed by well set ears which had lovely fringes. Plume well set and carried. Well balanced.
3rd ​Keown’s JORGEALIN MIDNIGHT MAGIC FOR KINGSHAVEN

Veteran Bitch (3 entries)
1st​ Ramsay & Mowatt’s FARTHINGHALL’S FOXY LADY OF IOTASTAR – Well balanced bitch. Good coat. Fine boned. Good topline and tailset. Good head and expression. Large mobile ears with good fringes. Hare feet. Large dark eye.
2nd​ Green’s MERCEDES DIAMOND AT RUBYWINGS – Tri bitch also well balanced. Elegant. Good coat. Pleasing head and alert expression. Used ears well. Large plume held well at all times. Dark eye. Good pigment.
3rd ​Foynes & May’s JHANKIA MASQUERADE AT LAFAY

1st​ Morton’s ABLAZZOR LADY IN RED – Pretty red sable and white. Well balanced and moved well. Good topline and tail set. Large ears set well on a pretty head. Dark eyes. Good pigment. Neat feet. Smart puppy.
2nd​ Keown’s WILACHANS AND HE IVY FOR KEOMANDI – Also a smart puppy. Good head and ear set. Nice outline. Liked her topline and tail set. Good fringes. Close up to 1.
3rd​ Lee-Slater’s GRAYCAZ IS ADORE HER

Junior Bitch (2 entries)
1st​ Lee’s LAFFORD GOLDEN CHILD – Lovely red sable and white 13 month old girl who did well here as there was a lot of background noise during this class! She never flinched. Such a dainty bitch. Elegant, well balanced, and alert. On the move she has the correct free flowing movement. She has a level topline, neat front, and good angulation. Her head has such a feminine expression, framed by large well set ears at the correct angle and with excellent fringes. Correct tapering muzzle of ideal length. She kept showing through all three classes and I enjoyed watching her in each one! I will watch her career with interest. RBB
2nd​ Burns & Lacy’s PAPLYSH MYKA MYSTAKE – 18 month old. Dark eye, good pigment. Correct hare feet. Lovely fringes. Good plume.

2nd ​Lee-Slater’s GRAYCAZ EU REKA – So much to like here, red sable and white puppy full of quality. Elegant, and fine boned with a lovely neck & shoulder placement. Her topline and tailset were ideal, and she carried her tail well at all times. She has large well set ears which she uses to advantage. Good fringes. Neat feet. Dark eyes well set in skull. Fine muzzle of correct length. Good angulation. Very promising puppy BPB
3rd Waller’s LILNROSE TREASURE THE DREAM

2nd ​Maskell’s LILNROSE TOO VAIN TO DREAM KAZKELL JW – Nice size tri. Dainty, elegant. Loved her head and expression. Slightly rounded head between large well shaped ears which she used well. Level topline, well set tail. Good plume. Neat feet. Good coat.

Post Graduate Bitch (2 entries)
1st ​Cooper’s WILACHANS JASMINE – Elegant red and white sable. Ideal size and shape. Presented a smart outline standing and moved well. Appealing head, large well positioned ears, used well. Dark eyes, good pigment, hare feet. Nice coat and texture. Good plume.
2nd​ Foynes & May & Whitehill’s LAFAY HAS THE LAST WORD WITH AMICAE – Another of nice size. Appealing head and expression. Good coat. Well set ears with good fringes.

Limit Bitch (2 entries, 1 absentee)
1st ​Roberts’s RAYOL PETRONELLA – Black and white phalene. Lovely coat of super texture. Good tailset and plume. Neat feet. Correct length muzzle. Well sprung rib. Well balanced.

Open Bitch (8 entries, 2 absentees)
What a lovely class.
1st ​Kirk’s ABLAZZOR ANGEL DELIGHT AT KIRKCHASE – Tri bitch of super quality who has such good ring presence. She had all the attributes I had been looking for being an ideal size, make and shape. She has an excellent outline, topline and tail set. She has a beautiful headpiece with an alert feminine expression which was enhanced by her beautiful butterfly ears set well and with lovely fringes. Her ears were mobile and she responded well to her handler. Her coat is of excellent quality and silky texture, and she was presented immaculately. On the move she demonstrated the correct light, free flowing gait, and held her plume well over her back. She impressed me today and I was delighted to award her BB & BIS
2nd Lanson’s CANTOVERDE ROYAL CHYNA JW SHCM – Another tri from the top drawer. Ideal size. Lovely temperament. Loved her outline, topline, tailset and plume. Dark eye. Good pigment. Coat in lovely condition with that good silky feel. Neat feet. Another quality bitch.
3rd ​Morley & Hitchcock’s JORGEALIN INDIAN MAGIC AT LIZLANMOR JW

Special Phalene Open Dog or Bitch (4 entries)
1st​Bruce’s TIJUANA MAYHEM – 2 ½ year old male, in good coat and condition, fine boned, elegant. Good fringes. Pleasing outline. Good head and expression. Stood four square. Best Phalene

Special Beginners Dog or Bitch (2 entries, 1 absentee)
1st​ Verity’s TIJUANA STARMAKER – Nice size dog. Showed and handled well. Elegant, dainty. Dark eye and good pigment.

Brace (4 entries, 3 absentees)
1st ​Cooper’s WILACHANS OLI & WILACHANS JASMINE – Well matched brother and sister. Lovely type, size make, and shape.
